Here Lies The Waste...

So, the William Control tour was… like a dream, really. If you didn’t go, you missed out big time. It was dirty, sweaty and sexier than sex itself, who could ask for more?

I’ve been gathering a lot of stuff over time and now is the time to start putting it together online. If you still want to submit stuff, it’ll have to be soon… and via email (which is avaliable in another blog).

and it just switched on! I figure that some of you have a lot to say, but don’t want your name put to it. I get it. Emotional converdation is always going to be awkward and cringey, but now it’s not a problem. Most people are probably familiar with the website “Formspring”, and if not, it’s a site which allows you to leave anonymous questions to any users of the site. I made one for the book project, so people can leave not just questions, but anything they want to say and it will be completely anonymous, but still included in the book.

busy! I now have 3 jobs to pay for tour and to pay to live. Which means I’ve been totally rubbish at keeping up with this.

THANK YOU to those who have already sent things in. From what I’ve seen so far, Aiden have a bunch of very amazing fans and I love every single one of you.

So, I’m going to set an end date because it all has to come together and that will take a while.I appreciate that it’ll take time for people to mail/finish things, so I’m giving you till JUNE 30TH 2010. That’s two and a half months, boys and ghouls. Liek I said previously, if you will be seeing William Control in the UK, I will now definitely be at all dates so I can collect things then.

Keeps emailing me things, I want this to be fantastic.

I’ve already posted about the William Control tour, but I don’t want the page to be cluttered with a million blogs and I’ve got a million more things to say. I’m sure you’ll not mind re-reading the WC tour dates and get those excitement juices (whatever they may be…;) ) flowing.

My plan was to be at all 15 shows. This may still be happening, depending on whether I get the job I’ve applied for at HMV (I have wanted to work there FOREVER), if I do then I will not be doing weekend shows. So that’ll only miss a few!

Have you ever been to a show and thought “man, I’d be a better support than that!” Well, chances are, you wouldn’t be any better but this band will be for sure. Your Last Winter want to be William Control’s support in the UK, specifically at the Birmingham show. Can you help us make this happen? Ohhh, competition prizes! If you’ve read the previous blogs, the first to be exact, then you’ll know about the competition open to anyone taking part. I was going to keep prizes a secret and be all “SUPRISE! LOOK AT THESE AMAZING THINGS!” but I figure everyone will feel a little more inclined to help if they know what is on the line. This list is going to get bigger as I find more things online/want to part with more Aiden-y things.

So far:

- Aiden “One Love” vinyl.

- 2x rare issues of Kerrang! magazine with Aiden on the cover, both from 2006.

- A guitar pick from each band member.

- A signed item.

Ghouls and monsters, it’s time to give me your minds and let me squish them into a book.

It’s early and I’m tired. The weather is miserable, but I am not because I woke up this morning to lots of emails/facebook messages/tweets about the book! I’m in love with the contirbutions people have sent, I could gaze at them all day. I can’t wait to share all your pieces with the world, it’s going to be fantastic!

Anyway, I’ve had messages from the inspired… and the uninspired. If you haven’t the slightest clue what to send in, stop worrying, I have yet to decide what I’m going to include yet either and I cross out every word I write. I have some ideas of what you can include, but feel free to think outside of the box and go a little crazy. We like crazy here ;)

• Pictures - with the band, of the shows, or your Aiden-covered walls or even off your shoe, pictures are good.
• Blogs - have you seen the band live/followed them on tour and have written a blog about it? Send me it!
• Letters - pretty self explanitory, you could address it to the band or to the world. Remember, a lot of eyes are going to read this. Nothing too dodgy, once you see/read something disturbing, you can never unread it…
• Poems - about this/that/anything.
• Drawings - break out the pens and pencils!
• Photos of you and your friends promoting Aiden!

The sky’s the limit, but I’m sure we could even break through that if we tried hard enough.

Thunderbirds are probably going too, but I can’t fill an Aiden book with birds, I need your beautifully crafted (or messily written, like my handwriting) letters, scrap pieces of paper with doodles, pictures of the band, of your Aiden merch… I want your everything. I am putting together a book to be avaliable to anyone who wants it, properly published and everything. It’ll be like a fanbook… for everyone to see! I want as many people to take part in this as possible, I think we all need something nice after recent times and you’ll beable to read other people’s experiences and thoughts about Aiden aswell as sharing your own.

I’m looking for handwritten pieces where possible (I will send you my address, stalkers/lurkers in the bushes will be shot. Unless you’re Johnny Depp… then you’re welcome) but emailed pieces are also awesome. If you could email whatever needs to be emailed to leigh.scavenger@hotmail.co.uk, you’ll be a total star!

Obviously there are so rules. Well, not really rules, just pointing out common sense:

• Swearing is okay, aslong as it’s not every other word. Noone fucking wants to fucking read a shitty letter that’s fucking like this, fuck yeah! do they? No. So, keep it controlled!
•  You can talk about whatever you like, Aiden related would be good, but if you want to publish your latest cake recipe, then atleast add an Aiden-y twist to it.
• We’re going for a book full of thoughts, feelings and hardcore, raw emotion, now’s your chance to get heard by other fans and the band.
• Pictures need to be clean, unlike the swearing, some people DO want to see naked Aiden fans, but not in this book, thanks.
• It doesn’t have to be neat, there can be scribbles, doodles, whatevers all over the page.
• If you don’t want your name put to your contribution, simply leave your name out, or for the sake of the competition (read on ;)), include your name but also let me know you want to be anonymous in the final copy.

The book will be availiable online in a few months so pieces need to be sent as quickly as possible. I don’t know how much it will be as of yet, but any profit made will be put toward a present for the band on their next tour, the gift is also yet to be decided but it’s obviously going to be totally amazing.

Not convinced to play your part? Well, there’s a COMPETITION too! For everyone who sends in something, your name will be put into a draw to win some fabulous Aiden prizes that have actually cost me money! Not some cheap crap noone wants, but something cool and I’ll keep adding to it. So, are you going to spread the word and take part, or am I going to have to forge hundreds of letters?
